DMRC Warning: More Than 15 kg luggage is Not Allowed in Delhi Metro

Latest news, DMRC is going to restricted overweight or oversized baggage from 20 MARCH. The public is not permitted to travel through metro if they carrier more than 15 kg weight bags. If the traveler caring bag, whose weigh is more than more than 15 kg is not allowed to travel through 20  Delhi Metro.

In certain in Metro station, DMRC connected U shape metal barrier near luggage checking X-RAY machine at DELHI METRO STATION. There are five metro stations: BARAKHAMBA, ANAND VIHAR, CHANDANI CHOWK, KASHMIRI GATE, and SHAHDARA through which public are not able to take oversized luggage through the X-RAY machine in current time.  The counting to 5 metro stations will be increased in upcoming next month (March). There are 15 more Delhi Metro stations in new Metro Plan.

According to one member of DMRC department said, “ this change happen due to DMRC operation and management Act to control the overweight of luggage. This plan is also included due to CISF department. According to DMRC operation and management act is to stop the public to carry oversized baggage which is more than 15 kg. In this Act length and breadth of the object is also fixed, according to this length of an object should 60cm and breadth should be 45cm and height not be more than 25cm. This rule at Delhi Metro Station is to implement from starting only but DMRC  trying to implement this Act for the safety of travelers or public.

U shape barrier is a tough challenge for the public, due to these barrier passengers who travel with oversized baggage at New Delhi suffers a tough challenge. At New Delhi Metro Station peoples have heavy luggage mostly. The public who travel from Airport Express line to New Metro Station, they also hold extra weighted bags.

According to DMRC,” the barriers which are fixed at 5 Metro Stations, the public is not forced to return back due to their oversized bags. Physical checking of these bags is going on. We are going to inform people so that they denote travel with oversized baggage”.

According to DMRC, “The barriers also fixed at 15 stations also so that public not be allowed to travel with oversized bags.” When DMRC and CISF department returns the public with their extra languages and gives them token money back.
